Small 8vo (16.5 cm) in early/period mottled calf, spine decorated and lettered in gilt, marbled endpapers, page edges dyed red; xxix, [3], 124 pp.; title-page with engraved vignette.

A satirical meditation on seduction and love, inspired by Ovid's Ars amatoria [The Art of Love]. Binding with light rubbing and wear, small area of worming to rear board; early owner's inscription on the title-page and penciled notes on the (blank) front flyleaf, small stain to the fore-edge of the text block, a few small spots elsewhere, otherwise clean and sound, firmly bound.
