offer this sweet and rarest of lovelies, a set of the works of Hubert Howe Bancroft in original binding, in fabulous condition.

San Francisco, CA: The History Company,  [1883] 1886 - 1890
Leather-bound. 
39 matching volumes.  9.3 in. x 6 in. ORIGINAL leather bindings with gilt title on two black panels to spine. Marbled edges. Hands down, this is the loveliest set we've come across in nearly thirty years. When such set is encountered intact,more often than not, it's beat up and its descriptions usually involve a long list of blemishes. Not this one. Somehow this set escaped both the ravages of time (if not those of use)

Hands down, this is the loveliest set we’ve come across in nearly thirty years.


Note:  Alas, we shall not compromise on shipping. This set WILL get to its intended owners in the same condition as when it leaves our shop in Oregon. If this requires 10 volumes per box, sobeit.
