[s.l., s.n., but Amsterdam: Elzevir] 1666. Two volumes bound in one, thick 12mo (13.5 cm), in early/period mottled calf, spine lettered and decorated in gilt; [26], 488, [10] p,; [2] 489-946, [8] p.; title-page of vol. I printed in red and black. Brunet IV, 1059.

Binding with some wear to the corners and rubbing to the spine, cracking to the joints but both boards are secure; light soiling to the title-page of vol. I, otherwise the text is generally very clean, crisp and bright, firmly bound. An early owner has provided a ms. key to the characters in Gargantua and Pantagruel on the last three pages, as well as a sketch of a face (Pantagruel's?) on the front free-endpaper.
