Ezra and Josh from Aardvark Rare Books offer this lot of a scarce radical magazine with incredible graphics on the covers and within, and incisive and courageous writing
within.

For Sale: 33 non-sequential issues of New Masses: A Magazine of Workers, Art and Literature. The magazine, which ran for twenty-two years, from 1926 through 1948, championed the working class and sought to feature literature (poems, short stories, essays and sketches)  “considered more appealing to a working-class audience”

Contributors include Richard Wright, Upston Sinclair, Sylvia Townsend Warner, Vladimir Lenin, Federico Garcia Lorca, Langston Hughes, Thomas Wolf, Anna Louise Strong, Rafael Alberti, Josephine Herbst, James T. Farrell, Reginald Marsh, Henry Roth, Stephen Spender, Malcolm Cowley, Granville Hicks, Archibald Macleish, John L. Spivak.
Issues run from  1930 - 1939, each issue in individual sleeve. Paper quality on the fragile side, with some small edge-chipping evident.
