Published in Paris by Librairie Rene Colas in 1933. The original  
edition of this important and comprehensive work. 2 volumes, paper  
covers. 6.5x10, 1,411 + 69 pages. Covers and spines with wear. The  
interiors are clean and the binding sewing is good, but these are  
heavy volumes in flimsy paper bindings and printed on French inter-war

”333” A BIBLIOGRAPHY OF THE SCIENCE-FANTASY NOVEL. Published by The  
Grandon Company in 1953. This catalog “is concerned with those novels  
which are generally considered the best efforts in Science-Fantasy up  
to and including 1950. It deals primarily with American fiction , and  
as such, provides bibliographical information for the first American  
edition. Each title has its plot digested and discussed”. Softcover.

29. Duncan, George Sang. BIBLIOGRAPHY OF GLASS from the earliest  
records to 1940. Published by Dawsons of Pall Mall for the Society of  
Glass Technology, Sheffield, in 1960. There are no two ways about it  
-this is a massive, definitive, standard bibliography of glass books,  
with upwards of 20,000 entries. This was the result of 40 years of  
research and then another 12 years of editing after the author's  
death. An essential tool for the glass researcher and enthusiast.

fine and important books and related materials, thoroughly researched

34. Gabler, James M. WINE INTO WORDS. A History and Bibliography of  
Wine Books in the English Language. Published by Bacchus Press in  
1985. Gabler has written extensively about wine, and lectures around  
the US about it and about Thomas Jefferson. Here is a labor of love  
for him a bibliography of books about wine and wine-related topics  
enhanced by deeply informed annotations. The 7,800 entries are  
presented alphabetically by author or title. Hardcover. 7.5x10, 403

catalog to an auction held by Hartung & Karl in Munich on November 6,  
1984. The catalog has 576 lots of early and rare gastronomy books, and

plates, plus black & white illustrations. Corner bumped, some other

36. [Gold] GOLD. THE AUSTRALIAN GOLD RUSHES. A catalog issued by  
Hordern House of Sydney, Australia, in 1990. An extraordinary catalog  
of 254 items spanning the 1850s to the 1870s. Derek McDonnell of  
Hordern House had been salting away material for this catalog since he  
worked for Quaritch in London in the 1970s. Softcover. 7x10, 84 pages,  
black & white and color illustrations. Some wear, slight cover ding.

Goodspeed’s Bookshop in Boston. No date, but late 1960s. ”First  
Books”, meaning either the very first publication, book or pamphlet,  
of an author or, in some cases other “firsts”, such as the first  
complete Bible printed in America, and so on, from the Paul S.  
Seyboult Collection. There are 541 entries. Softcover. 5.5x8.5, 127

impressive Horological Library, offered by the estate and catalogued  
by Jill Hadfield. Beresford Hutchinson was curator of horology at the  
British Museum and also at the Greenwich Observatory. Softcover.

47. [Kraus] FROM COLUMBUS TO LINCOLN. Fifty Distinguished Americana.  
Catalog 92. Published in New York by H.P. Krause. No date, but around  
1960. A decent enough catalog, I suppose, if one is into flashy stuff  
like Columbus's printed letter announcing that he discovered America,  
his brother's handwritten account of Columbus's fourth voyage, a copy  
of the Bill of Rights printed for Thomas Jefferson- you know, kind of  
sexy, good beat, I'll bet somebody could dance to it. The Krause  
cataloging of this material is scholarly, detailed, and not overly  
laudatory, while keeping in mind that most of this stuff is the sort  
of thing your average Americana collector would strip nude and  
sacrifice themselves to a Vegomatic for. Softcover. 7"x10", 69 pages,
