The following item is discounted today and tomorrow:

*FURTHER POEMS OF EMILY DICKINSON* [Little, Brown, and Company, Boston,
1929.

A Very Good or better copy of the QUITE SCARCE first edition, first
printing in the Publisher's original dark green cloth with gilt lettering
and decoration to the front board and spine, in a Very Good or Better FIRST
STATE dust jacket, presenting a group of Emily Dickinson's Poems not
published during her lifetime and kept confidential by her Sister, Livinia,
and being the first publication of these Dickinson Poems. The book is
somewhat askew and the spine gilt has largely faded away, but the spine
lettering remains quite visible. The closed page block's top edge is in
gilt which, while a bit marked, remains remarkably bright. In our
experience the first edition, first printing of this collection in the
first state dust jacket seldom appears on the market. QUITE SCARCE INDEED.

NOTE: Martha Gilbert Dickinson Bianchi, also known as "Mattie", was born
on November 30, 1866, the only daughter of Austin and Susan Dickinson, and
thus Emily Dickinson's Niece. After her mother Susan and her aunt Lavinia
died, Bianchi inherited the Dickinson manuscripts that remained in her
family (the other significant portion of the manuscripts was held by Mabel
Loomis Todd). She became the last surviving member of the Dickinson line
and, with her death, the Dickinson line ended.
