11-1/2" ORIGINAL ETCHING of Mencken by Richard Thomas Hood SIGNED by the 
artist and by the combative journalist. Fine image of Mencken seated and 
staring warily ahead. From the Artists Series created by Richard Thomas 
Hood (1910-1993), Philadelphia artist and Director of the Pennsylvania 
Art Project (WPA). Mencken's satirical reporting on the Scopes Trial, 
which he dubbed the "Monkey Trial," gained him national attention. Fine.
