writer; with the famed illustrations by George Cruikshank.

The first English translation, (and incidentally the first
valuation of dogs in Britain), of the Laws of Howell the Good,
which date to the ninth century and were recently described as "the
greatest intellectual achievement of mediaeval Wales".
