Greetings All,

For your consideration:
~
(No. 7384 ) Reese, Timothy J.. SYKES' REGULAR INFANTRY DIVISION, 1861-1864:
A HISTORY OF REGULAR UNITED STATES INFANTRY OPERATIONS IN THE CIVIL WAR'S
EASTERN THEATER.
Jefferson, NC: McFarland & Company, Inc., Publishers, (1990). First Edition,
Full cloth, Octavo, xxii, 466 pages, Black & White photographs, maps. Very
Good.
A fine reconstruction of the role of the Regular U.S. Infantry in the
Civil War. The Regulars have generally taken a back seat to the histories of
the state volunteer units, and Reese has gathered information from a variety
of obscure and scattered sources to tell their story. Appendices on
Regimental Representation, Orders of Battle, Medals of Honor Awarded,
Classification of Regular Division Officers, and Regimental Casualties.
Extensive bibliography. Bound in dark blue cloth over boards with
gilt-stamped spine and upper board titles. Bump to head of spine, a few
other minor extremity bumps, mild soil to lower fore edge of textblock.
