Jennings' book was a major advance in identifying stream insects and

copy #638 of an edition of 850, bound in green cloth over boards with gilt
titles on dark blue title blocks on spine and upper board, gilt stamped
border and decorative pattern on upper board, top edge gilt. There are 7
hand-colored plates and 5 black and white plates by Alma Froderstrom

photographic frontispiece plate of Jennings fishing the Ausable. All plates
have original tissue guards intact. There is no significant wear to the
book, but some minor browning to cloth and some age-toning to endpapers and
textblock edges. Rough-cut fore and bottom edges. Slipcase is green paper
over boards with edge rubs, some dampstaining, bumps to a couple of corners,
and some slight splitting to paper along short sections of a few joints. It
has protected the book well. $650.00
