Precipua Responsoria, Versus, Antiphonas, Hymnos, Introitos, Sequentias… 
(Augsburg: Mattheus Francus). 1567. 8vo. ff.(16),220,(4). Complete with the final 
blank. Title printed in red & black. Printed music throughout (in five-line 
staves). Text in Latin except for one song, “Puer Natus in Bethlehem,” which 
also has the German translation “Ein Kind Geborn Zu Bethlehem.” Large woodcut 
initials throughout. Cont. blind-stamped pigskin, with borders of Saints and a 
center panel of mosaic design. Both brass clasps present. Front free endpaper 
lacking, otherwise a fine copy of this very scarce book.     $3,750.00 (trade 
discount allowed)
First edition. The British Library has two reprint editions but not the first 
edition. The N.U.C. records 1 copy. After f.220 there are 3 leaves with 
printed 5 line staves for the owner’s manuscript additions. This copy has 1 song 
added. See Eitner V, 192.
