Expedition up the Missouri River, 1833-34". Maximilian's monumental
narrative, reprinted here with new notes, is considered one of the classic
early 19th century travelogues of life along the Missouri through
Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Dakota, and Montana. Artist Karl Bodmer
accompanied the expedition, and his watercolors are reproduced here.

Editions du Vieux Planquesaule:1961. Metalwork from the Congo region in
brass, bronze and iron, of both native and foreign inspiration, including
crucifixes, swords, bracelets, bells and rings. Some of the work, (for
instance, some crucifixes) were imported to the Congo from Europe, but
much of the rest of the material is of native manufacture.   7"x10", 96
