[New York]: [The Grolier Club], 1907. First printing, Flexible cloth,
Duodecimo, xvi, 106 pages. Near Fine.
      Historical survey of the art of bookbinding in early America, followed
by a bibliographically descriptive and annotated catalogue of 136 books and
other items. Also includes a list of bookbinders who are known to have
worked in America before 1800 along with brief biographical notes. Printed
for the Grolier Club by the De Vinne Press. Bound in limp dark blue cloth
with gilt-stamped title on front cover and gilt-stamped ornamental border on
both covers. Minor edge wrinkles to covers, shallow rub with a bit of
fraying to cloth at heel of spine. Binding sound. Handsome copy in original
binding.    $125.00
