heliogravure (intaglio print produced by gravure ) reproductions of 
authenticated paintings (some double-page), each with full catalogue 
description. 4 heliogravure plates showing 21 paintings known only by 
engravings. Several text illustrations and facsimile plates. One of 
the 500 sets on Holland paper, after the 75 on Japan paper. 8 
volumes. 17 1/2 x 14 1/2", large folio. Fine. Complete set in 
pristine condition. No foxing nor soiling. Rebound in sturdy buckram 
without the wrappers. Binding in fine condition. The final volume 
contains full indices and an essay on the life and art of the 
painter. Previous owner's bookplate.  $2500.00
