Duff, E. Gordon. HAND-LISTS OF ENGLISH PRINTERS 1501-1556. PART I (and)
PART II. London; Printed by Blades, East & Blades, for the Bibliographical
Society: 1895.  Covers Wynkyn de Worde, Julian Notary, R. & W. Faques,
John Skot, Richard Pynson, Robert Copland, John Rastell, Peter Treveris,
Richard Bankes, Laurence Andrewe, William Rastell, Thomas Godfray, and
John Byddell. Includes biographical notes and printer's devices. Three
more parts with more printers were eventually published. Hardcover. 7"x9",
about 150 pages plus a number of b/w plates; bound in period quarter
leather and marbled boards by Zaehnsdorf, with raised spine bands and gilt
emblems; marbled endpapers. Light wear, but an attractive, nice copy.

for the Bibliographical Society: 1903. An interesting collection of
abstracts from the wills of booksellers and printers of London of the 16th
and early 17th centuries, with booksellers far outnumbering printers.
Provides interesting insight into the book and printing trades, as well as
wills and bequests of the period. Hardcover. 7"x9", v + 67 pages; bound in
period quarter leather and marbled boards by Zaehnsdorf, with raised spine
