THE RULE: A CENTURY OF PROGRESS IN YACHT DESIGN.
New York: Derrydale Press, (1937). First printing, Full cloth, Octavo,
xviii, 157 pages, Black & white plates, plans. Near fine.
      A fine history of the conflict between creative yacht design and the
Measurement Rule which has governed competitive yacht racing. Handsome book
by the Eugene V. Connett's Derrydale Press. Copy #764 of 950. Bound in dark
blue cloth over boards with royal blue cloth sides, gilt lettering to spine
and upper board, vertical gilt rule to both boards. Original blank Derrydale
order form for additional sporting books is laid in. TOY #4786; MORRIS &
HOWLAND, 111; SIEGEL, 120. Apparently issued with a clear plastic cover in
lieu of a jacket, and this in place but with a few edge chips. Endpapers
show a few minor adhesion stains from the plastic cover but no residue.
Hinges are not cracked. Clean and lovely copy.    $100.00
