      The Rockwell polar flight was the first round-the-world flight to pass
over both the North and South poles. This report documents the navigation of
the flight, and the 12 folding charts show the actual track (as determined
by celestial, radar, radio and visual fixes) and a plot of positional data
taken from an internal navigation set. The flight demonstrated the
feasibility of DeGroot's and Larsen's theory of three dimensional celestial
positioning for use in near-planet orbital vehicles. This method would
eliminate the need for a space stadimeter and allow astronauts to navigate
utilizing only a horizon sextant, a watch, and a miniature computer. Bound
in printed blue covers with black comb binding. Navigational Chart No. 3 by
Weems System of Navigation is folded and laid in. Slightest bit of age
