66390.   Abbe, Dorothy.   The Dwiggins marionettes, a complete experimental 
theatre in miniature.   New York, Harry N. Abrams Inc. [1969?]. Original 
black cloth decorated with marionettes in gold on the front cover. Small 
calligraphic book label of John and Jean Michael on the front free 
endpaper, which is creased. Fine in lettered plastic dust jacket missing a 
few small pieces on the top and bottom edges. 232 pp. Illustrated. There is 
no date of publication on the title-page or copyright page. The postscript 
to the Author's Note is dated 1969.   $100.00
66537.   Catich, Edward M.   Letters redrawn from The Trajan inscription in 
Rome.   Davenport, Iowa, Catfish Press, St. Ambrose College [c1961]. Text 
volume in orange-brown cloth inserted in a pocket in an orange- brown cloth 
folding box into which the 93 plates are also inserted. Plate number 1 
partially browned, otherwise fine. The text volume is inscribed on the 
recto of the blank leaf before the half- title: "To John Michael / E M 
Catich". Also signed by Catich on the same page. The text volume has a 
three-page preface by W. A. Dwiggins. 44 pp. 16 numbered figures.   $350.00

With characteristic examples of his art in lettering, t ype designing &

calligraphic book label of John and Jean Michael on the front pastedown. 
Lightly rubbed at th e head and foot of the backstrip and corners,

inscribed in the colophon by Raymond DaBoll, the book's de signer, in his

label fine. One of 452 numbered, signed copies. 23 pp., followed by "The 
specimens from Antipodes". 7 numbered figures. 3 x 5 note card with 6- line 
pencilled note from Dorothy Abbe laid in. Accompanied by a blank check of 
the Hingham Trust Company with printed name and devices of 
Pueterschein-Hingham. Typography, illustrations, and binding by

Original quarter black cloth and yellow paper boards (there were also 
copies in yellow wrappers printed in red). Corners lightly bumped, 
extremities rubbed, otherwise near fine. Designed by Bruce Rogers. The Work 
of Bruce Rogers 393. The book has a section for each letter of the 
alphabet, by a different designer. W. A. Dwiggins did the letter D. This 
copy has the first state of the leaf containing the Ampersand page printed
