The earliest issuance of Knapp and Baldwin's compilation that I
have encountered, cataloguing the actions of "traitors, murderers,

A rare and illuminating attempt to court martial an officer for
wife-beating, on the basis that it constituted conduct unbecoming
an officer and a gentleman, and required dismissal from the
service.
