WHITMAN,  Walt (SISKIND, Aaron). SONG OF THE OPEN  ROAD.
         [New York]:  Limited Editions Club (1990). Very large, almost
         square  quarto  (15"  x  17-1/2"),  bound  in  quarter  black
         goatskin  over green linen boards with goatskin fore-edge  to
         the boards  and a green leather spine label. Illustrated with
         six large  photogravures  by Aaron Siskind printed  by  Clary
         Nelson  at the Renaissance Press on Richard De Bas paper. The
         photographs  were  taken  not  far   from  Siskin's  home  in
         Providence,    RI  "of  tar  poured   into  the   cracks   of
         light-colored  concrete roads, forming swirls and curves  and
         parallel  lines,  cheerful or brooding markings on  a  gritty
         surface  that is rendered almost microscopically and enlarged
         into a  striking  textural  background for each  of  the  six
         photographs."  Copy  #364 of only 550 numbered copies  SIGNED
         by the   photographer.  Monthly  Letter   laid  in.  Fine  in
         slipcase with Monthly Letter laid in.                $1000.00
