Fourth Edition. Folio in recent dark salmon full morocco with a brown
morocco onlay border on both covers encasing a repeating blindstamped
design of crowns and crosses; six raised bands with blindstamping to
spine. Three titles bound together, as usually the case, with a
frontispiece depiction of the journey from Europe to the Holy Land
and a large folding map of Palestine in the first volume, tables, and
17 half-page engraved portraits in the other two volumes including
Hildegarde of Bingen, Paracelsus, St. Augustine, and Joan of Arc. The
Declaration of the Frontispiece leaf is neatly laid down to size; new
endpapers. Clean copy in an attractive and interesting binding.
