(LAW) Carrasco del Saz, Francisco. ...OPERA OMNIBUS JURIUM SCIENTIAE
STUDIOSIS UTILISSIMA... Madrid: Julianum de Paredes. 1648. Folio. 3 parts in 1.
(24),290,(46);73,(19);58,(8)pp. Double column text. Each part with an index. Very
fine copper engraved title (with engraved text) with numerous illustrations
surrounding the text, including “America,” an Indian maiden with bow & arrow.
Cont. ruled vellum, lower spine with a gouge. Some occasional light text
browning, but overall a very nice copy. $1,250.00 (trade discount allowed)
First edition of this rare legal treatise for the Viceroyalty of Peru and the
Spanish colonies. Each part with its own title page, the first dated 1620,
the second 1630, and the third not dated. The first two were previously
published. The third is new, here published after the author’s death, compiled by his
son, Joseph Carrasco del Saz. See Palau #45126, #45122, and #45124. It is
obvious from reading Palau’s notes that copies of this 1648 collection have been
broken apart. Medina, BIBLIOTECA HISPANO-AMERICANO #1116. Not in the BL 17th c.
Spanish STC. OCLC records only 1 copy.
