(AUTOGRAPH LETTERS) Sherman, William Tecumseh. 1 page autograph letter (10" x 
8") March 27, 1866 on stationery printed “Head Quarters Military Division of 
the Mississippi,” 10 lines signed by Sherman. The letter, previously folded, 
is to the office of The U. S. Army, in regard to Major Cullen, asking that “any 
kindness and attention shown him will be esteemed a favor by myself.” Sherman 
explains that Cullen was formerly Inspector of Indian Affairs in Wisconsin 
and Minnesota and now is on his way to Montana.     $1,250.00 (trade discount 
allowed)
Cullen became an important Indian Affairs person in the Montana Territory.
