TWAIN, Mark [CLEMENS, Samuel]. ROUGHING IT. Hartford
et. al.: American Publishing Company 1872. First Edition.
Publisher's 3/4 (technically, half) morocco. BAL 3337: State
A of page 242, with final ad leaf. Publisher's imprint is as
listed by Blanck. Also includes all of the other First State
points except that the "y" in "My" on page 19 is a little
overinked. Illustrated with two frontispieces, six full-page
plates, and numerous engravings in the text. Except for the
virtually unobtainable full morocco binding, this is by far
the scarcest binding on this book with only about 2% of the
print run bound this way. Old owner name of George W. Reily
Jr. on the first blank. Some toning to the paper. Hinges
sound. Joints just a little rubbed with very mild wear to
the head of the spine. Near Fine and quite uncommon in this
          condition and binding. $2000.00
