LEVINE, Philip. ARCHIVE OF 4 AUTOGRAPH LETTERS SIGNED (ALSs) and 1
TYPED LETTER SIGNED (TLS). Barcelona & Fresno: 1966 & [1970]. A fine
grouping totaling six pages, written mostly before the publication of
his first trade book in 1968, to editors of a literary magazine both
as a contributor and as a subscriber. In one letter he resists the
editor's request to change a poem's title on three grounds, the third
being "even if I liked the title I'd resist on some undefined
hostility towards suggestions from people I haven't known for 10
years.... I subscribe to every magazine that asks. At least for a
year. I would hate to feel that there was a good magazine & I let it
down." Near Fine $1500.00
