FOOTE, Shelby. THE CIVIL WAR: A NARRATIVE. Three volumes. New York:
Random House (1958,-63,-74). First Edition. An important trilogy,
never easy to find and extremely difficult since Ken Burns's
documentary aired on public television some years ago. Illustrated
with maps. Minor fraying to the head of the spine of the first volume
which has a small adhesive mark on the front pastedown where a price
sticker once was; owner name on front endpaper of the third volume.
The dustwrapper on the first volume is price-clipped otherwise very
nice; that of the second volume has minor darkening with a short
closed tear at the rear; the third volume's dustwrapper has a jagged
tear about two inches long at the top front that has been internally
mended with tape and a resulting light crease to the top front
corner. Near Fine in bright dustwrappers with mentioned wear. $850.00
