(No. 7702 )  [Ridgway, Matthew B.]. GUEST BOOK OF THE 82D AIRBORNE DIVISION
(PHOTOSTAT), INSCRIBED BY RIDGWAY.
(S.l.): (s.n.), [1945?]. Binder, Square octavo, [26 pages], Black & white
photographic facsimiles. Good.
      Photostat copy of the pages from the Guest Book of the 82nd Airborne
Division.  The original guest book was signed by officers of the division
and by many visitors to the command during World War II. This copy consists
of photographs of the pages bound between thin boards and held in place with
a metal clasp. It was given by Gen. Matthew B. Ridgway, first commander of
the 82d Airborne, to his second wife, Peggy. It is INSCRIBED and SIGNED by
Ridgway inside front cover, thusly: "Ridgway / 82nd Division / Feb. 25,
1942-Aug. 15, 1944 / Peggy Darling, / a Photostat / of the now famous book /
Matt". A Photostat of the original cover is pasted onto the front board.
Tape reinforces the hinge inside front cover, tape residue along left edge
Photostat on front cover and on rear cover, and a few chips and rubs to fore
edge of front cover.    $250.00
