edge yellow, amusing clipping tipped-in describing Corrigan's mishaps on 
his way to Philadelphia and his reception there.  On the opposing end paper 
Corrigan has inscribed the book, "To Daddy, may you soon take your first 
flight. Douglas Corrigan 1-24-39."  The page with the inscription is 
lightly toned from the clipping.  (Airplane mechanic (he worked on 
assembling the "Spirit of St. Louis"),  long-distance flier, and possible 
the only man to become famous for going the wrong way - in his case from 
N.Y. to Dublin.  The book gives interesting  pictures of the early days of 
aviation. )   $110.00
