St. Gregory of Nazianzus (ca. 325-389) ranks as
one of the greatest theologians of the early
Church. Though the Bodleian Library catalogue
contains more than 30 pages of the various
editions of his works (the first published in
1609-11), this, the Benedictine edition (along
with that of Migne's), is the best and most
complete. The first volume was printed in 1778
but publication was interrupted by the French
Revolution; a second edition of the first volume
was published in 1837 and then the first edition
of the second volume in 1840. Vol. 2 has imprint:
Curis et sumptibus Parent-Desbarres.
Boards detached on volume I, very tender on
volume II which is lacking lower half of spine,
library pockets to rear board and bookplates to
front as well as accession numbers. Overall clean
leaves. [26636] $300.00
