 From our newly reloaded "Just Catalogued" pages-
<http://www.joslinhall.com/justcat.htm>

American Manuscript Library Catalog. No place: 1832. An intriguing private
catalog of a personal library. The hand-written title page states
"Catalogue of Books -1832-". The books are listed by category- Theology (6
pages), Classics (2/3 page), Works of Science (1 page), History & Biography
(1.5 pages), General Literature (3.5 pages), and Miscellaneous (1.5 pages).
The entries are very brief- a title (often very truncated, or a single word
such as "Topography" or "Sophocles"), followed by the number of volumes.

Although there is no indication of where this book owner lived, there are
enough American titles which someone living elsewhere would probably not
have owned for the presumption to be made that this is of American origin-
though one can always be wrong. There is a later penciled note on the title
page that reads "B.C. Brooks?", but who made it and why is unknown.

Hardcover. 4.75"x7.5", 33 sheets (14 used, some both sides); bound in full
vellum with a brass clasp; "Catalogue" printed in ink on the cover and
spine. Covers with some soil, some pages at the front and rear excised
(evidently containing prior lists). [08130] $200.00
