Philadelphia, Pa. 1810:
Three Volumes, bound in calf. With Historical illustrations: to which is 
prefixed "An Introduction to the Study and Practice of Eloquence. Marcus 
Tullius Cicero was born, 106 BC and was murdered on 43 BC. Known as a great, 
an orator, lawyer, politician, and philosopher. Cicero was an important 
person in the significant political events of his time; whose  writings are 
a valuable source of  historical documentation. In these volumes you will 
find an equally valuable source of speeches from Britain's history, that 
also addresses grammar, rhetoric, invention, disposition, elocution, 
function of the orator, logic, thinking, judging, reasoning, oratation.

An abundant an abundant amount of historical information relating to the 
conflicts, and events of the periods of the speeches. Bound in full brown 
calf, with a marbling look. Rubbing to extremities. Red title panel with 
gilt title and volume number to spine. Mild rubbing of boards, volume 3 
spine, has a 3.4 by 1/2 inch chip at head. Scuff mark to pastedown of Vol. 
I. pencil erasure to e.p. and faded previous owners name stamp, Vol. II & 
III f.e.p. have erasure of pencil to upper edge. Vol. II, has damp stain to 
upper corner and side edge to last quarter of book, (with-in margin, text 
fine). Mild foxing throughout. Vol. III ., one page of Birch and Small ads 
to rear, pastedown, has prev. owners name written upside down. Text easily 
read. 598,  495, 497, tall 8 vo. All else clean, very tightly bound. Leather 
is in very good condition. To the list offered at $150.00
