AUTHORITIES OF THAT OFFICE, AS REGULATED BY THE LAWS NOW IN FORCE IN 
THIS STATE.  TO WHICH IS ADDED A NUMBER OF WARRANTS ... 
[&c].  Augusta: George F. Randolph, 1804.  Old worn leather,
blind scroll borders, over half of the spine missing, inner joints 
repaired, tiny
burn holes on several pages, old signatures including Robert Watters. Pages
108-116 concern slavery, including the famous prohibition against 
teaching slaves to read or write.  Interestingly enough, the compiler 
concludes this section with a remonstrance against the extreme 
treatment of slaves: "Even
slaves are human beings."   6 copies in OCLC: Library of Congress, 2 in N.Y.
