ARISTOTLE'S SECRET OF SECRETS CONTRACTED; BEING THE SUM OF
HIS ADVICE TO ALEXANDER THE GREAT ABOUT THE PRESERVATION OF HEALTH 
AND GOVERNMENT . . . COLLECTED BY A GENTLEMAN AND LOVER OF HIS 
COUNTRY.   [London], printed in the year 1719. 12mo, old
rubbed calf, spine worn, joint weak,signatures on a few pages of John
Blackader (aScottish family, one of whom  was a Nova Scotia baronet) and
David Liddell.  Small gold crown with 4 stars on both covers. Printed label on
end paper:"From the Library of Robert Louis Stevenson at Vailima" signed by
Stevenson's step-daughter, Isobel Strong (who consigned much of Stevenson's
  library to auction in N. Y. in 1914-16.)  This pseudo-Aristotle 
contains much
material on health, diet, &c and all editions are scarce.  OCLC 
locates only the
copy at the College of Physicians in Philadelphia.   $3000.00
