Morison, Samuel Eliot. FULLNESS OF LIFE, A MEMOIR OF ELIZABETH SHAW
MORISON, 1886-1945.

Privately printed: 1945. Edition limited to 200 copies.

Samuel Eliot Morison's dignified and moving tribute to his late wife,
Elizabeth.

Morison (1887-1976) was a Rear-Admiral in the USNR and wrote the famous
15-volume official "History of U.S. Naval Operations in World War Two".
Born in Boston, Morison attended Harvard and taught at Berkeley and Oxford,
but then returned to Harvard where he taught from 1915 to 1955. In 1942 he
joined the United States Naval Reserve as a Lieutenant-Commander and
researched and wrote his massive "History of U.S. Naval Operations", for
which he was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral. One of Morison's
assistants on that project went on to create the famous "Victory at sea"
television series.

The author of many other noted and popular books on seafaring and history,
including a biography of Christopher Columbus, Morison was the recipient of
two Pulitzer prizes. A US Naval frigate is named in his honor.

[and] printed by The Merrymount Press, Boston. This copy for David and
Eloise". Light wear, partially unopened; a nice copy. Morison's calling
