polished  calf  with gilt-ruled spine retaining the  original  marbled
boards  with leather lacking from the corners. xviii, 267 pp; list  of
plates;  explanation  of  the table of classes; pronunciation  of  the
Latin  names  of  plants;  explanation   of  botanical  terms;  index.
Illustrated  with  22 fine hand-colored plates, all in  bright,  clean
condition.  Inscription  on  the top of the title  page  "to  Caroline
