The Life of John Mytton, Esquire of Halston, Shropshire, Formerly M. P. for

the North Shropshire Yeomanry Cavalry; with Notices of his Hunting, Shooting,

Original green ribbed cloth with gilt decorations on the front, side and spine.
Published in two editions in 1834 and 1837, with some additional plates in
the second edition. This facsimile edition combines plates from both in one
volume. The twenty hand-colored plates are reproductions in the size and
color of the originals, and all are present as issued with captioned tissue
guards. Tight, intact, text-block clean. Top-edge foxed, corners
bumped/rubbed, edgewear, slightly scuffed. Very Good+ condition. $50.00

Edward Newton in The Greatest Book in the World, Mytton was considered the very
model of English sport: reckless, penniless, a practical joker doomed to a
tragic end met with cheer.
