The noted author of this work on the geographies of Pliny and Pomponius Mela
had died on 2 May 1493. His brother Daniel then completed the revisions and
corrections to the text in preparation for a new edition. This second edition is
the product of Daniel’s work, and he arranged for this edition to be
privately printed at his own expense at what yet remains an unknown Italian press.
