1975. A valuable compilation of more than 2,000 relief-cut ornaments and
illustrations used by American printers from 1640 to 1776, reproduced
life-size. Each illustration or ornament is accompanied by notes on the
printers who are known to have used it and the first year of its

slightly bowed and somewhat worn; jacket soiled and slightly stained;

Castle; Oak Knoll Press: 1994. A reissue of the landmark 1975 book,
updated and amended by Stephen O. Saxe. Saxes' additions include 8 new
appendices, one of them listing 73 type specimen books that were unknown
when the 1975 edition was published, and another describes a newly
