We will be exhibiting this and many other fine items in booth A-24.
RUTH, Babe. BABE RUTH'S OWN BOOK OF BASEBALL. New York: G. P.
Putnam's Sons 1928. First Edition. Original blue cloth, gilt. Copy
#46 of 1000 numbered and SIGNED copies. Illustrated with photographs.
A true high spot of modern baseball books, this is a scarce title
seldom encountered in the marketplace. A colleague suggests that
despite the limitation there is evidence that not all 1000 copies
were bound, and we have little reason to doubt this statement as we
have seen only a handful of copies surface in the past decade. At
this point only those in solitary confinement are shocked at the
suggestion that the vast majority of sports autographs are forged,
despite the many fancy COAs that are issued with them. Here is an
irrefutably authentic signature, signed for the publisher at the time
of publication, by perhaps the most popular sports figure of the
twentieth century. Peace of mind is usually worth what it costs. Very
minor wear to corners and spine tips. Long scratch to spine and
rubbing to spine edges. Very Good example of a scarce book. $15,000.00
