EINSTEIN, Albert (Schilpp, Paul A. [editor]). ALBERT EINSTEIN:
PHILOSOPHER-SCIENTIST. Evanston, IL: Library Living Philosophers
1949. First Edition. Volume VII of the Library of Living Philosophers
in publisher's brown leather-like cloth with gilt lettering. This is
Copy #616 of 760 SIGNED by the author and subject with his scarcer
full signature and the publication date added after his name in his
hand. Contents include essays by 25 leading scientists such as Max
Born and Niels Bohr, Einstein's reply to their essays, a bibliography
of Einstein's works, and a 47-page revealing autobiography by
Einstein printed in both German and English on facing pages.
Illustrated with several photographs, a facsimile of a page of
Einstein manuscript, and diagrams. An increasingly scarce book, this
copy is largely unopened. A number of pages have a mostly faint
dampstain along the outer margins, visible really only on the title
page and just a handful of other pages. The page with the signature
shows hardly any effect. Still Near Fine, lacking the scarce
slipcase. $6500.00
