Memories of trout fishing and hunting duck, goose, swan, and upland
game birds along the Chesapeake Bay and Maryland's Eastern Shore. Perce
Blogg was an expert waterfowl hunter and long time member of the Miller's
Island Ducking Club and the Seneca Ducking Club. HAND #B370. Bound in green
cloth over boards with black stamped spine and upper board titles, color
illustration laid onto upper board. A few shallow edge wrinkles and tiny
rubs at spine ends. No prior ownership marks, hinges sound. $200.00

The story of Lemuel T. Ward and Stephen Ward, the famous wildfowl
counterfeiting brothers of Crisfield, Maryland. Nicely illustrated, some

light green cloth over boards with spine lettered in gilt and upper board
titled and illustrated in gilt. Minor edge wear at spine ends, faint

Guide to over 7,000 angling waters, giving information on the cost of
guides, boats, and accommodations, best months for fishing, favored methods
used by locals, how best to reach the sites, and more. Nice section of
advertisements at rear featuring tackle, rubber waders, railroad lines,
hotels, etc. HAND #H161. Bound in dark green pebbled cloth over boards with
gilt-stamped spine and upper board. Mild rubs to cloth, some fraying at
extremities. Both front and rear endpapers split along hinges, textblock
still secure in binding. Some age toning and a few finger soil marks inside.

THEIR MAKERS.

History of waterfowling and decoy use in this specific area of
Maryland, followed by the biographies of 36 known local decoy makers. There
is also discussion of sink boxes, bushwhack rigs, guns, and modern decoy
making as well. The author grew up in Elkton, made decoys (he includes
himself herein), and was a recognized authority on the subject. SIGNED by
McKinney on title page. PRATT, EASTERN SHORE #899. Bound in glossy pictorial
covers with some fading along spine and top edges of covers, minor bump at
head of spine, slight edge rubs to covers. Prior owner stamp at top edge of

Collection of 22 fishing stories, including F. E. Pond on the Poetry
of Fly Fishing; Seth Green on How to Cast a Fly; L. A. Beardslee on the
Salmon and Trout of Alaska; Fred Mather on the Grayling; A. Louis Miner, Jr.
on Fly-Fishing in the Yosemite; and much more. Illustrated with 15 color
plates lithographed by Milton Bradley and showing flies made by Charles
Orvis. BRUNS #O18; HAND #O97. Bound in original mustard-colored decorated
cloth over boards. Title page illustration by Vedder. Some mild bumps and
rubbing to cloth at spine ends, with slight fraying at top fore corners of
boards. Cloth is splitting along bottom 1.25" of lower joint. Front hinge
cracked, a couple of signatures beginning to pull. Overall an attractive
copy but with the mechanics of the binding weakening. $350.00

A wonderful study of the migratory birds hunted in Arkansas' Grand
Prairie. Of great interest here are the detailed photographs and Bishop's
sketches analyzing the mechanics of these birds' flight. Also has chapters
on hunting, retrievers, hunting with the camera, etc. Addenda include camera
notes, and an interesting piece titled "Rudiments of Flight," by aviation
pioneer Glenn Martin. Good bibliography. HAND #Q5. Bound in brown cloth over
boards with dark brown spine and upper board lettering, gilt embossed
medallion on upper board, pictorial endpapers, tissue-guarded color
frontispiece painting by Bishop. Beautiful copy. $125.00

than all other areas combined. Includes swans, hawks, hanners, and
scissorbills in addition to ducks and geese, and covers the Susquehanna
Flats, the Eastern Shore of Virginia, and Kent, Talbot, Dorchester, and
Somerset Counties in Maryland. There is a chapter on sporting yachts by
Henry Fleckstein. PRATT, EASTERN SHORE #902. Bound in dark green textured
paper over boards with spine titled in gilt. Minor extremity rubs, a few
specks of foxing to top edge of textblock. Jacket has minor edge wear and

houses, technological changes in his lifetime, and the general pleasantness
of life on the Eastern Shore. His family owned slaves before the Civil War
and he gives several interesting anecdotes about them and the effects of the
