MAUGHAM,  W. Somerset. OF HUMAN BONDAGE. Garden  City:  Doubleday,
Doran  1936.  First  Edition. The First Illustrated  Edition  of  this
famous  book.  Copy  #644  of  751   SIGNED  by  the  author  and  the
illustrator,  Randolph Schwabe. Perhaps Maugham's greatest effort,  OF
HUMAN  BONDAGE  was made into a film in 1934 starring Bette  Davis  in
her  breakout  performance  and again in 1964 with Kim  Novak  as  the
manipulative  Mildred  Rogers. This copy has recently been rebound  in
half  green morocco and cloth with new endpapers and gilt  decorations
and  a  gilt-lettered  black  morocco label on  the  spine.  Trace  of
dampstaining   to  the  very  outer  margin   of  just  a  few  pages.
Dustwrapper  and  slipcase not present. Near Fine text in  attractive,
