TRIMBLE, Isaac. A TREATISE ON THE INSECT ENEMIES OF FRUIT AND
FRUIT TREES. WITH NUMEROUS ILLUSTRATIONS DRAWN FROM NATURE, BY
HOCHSTEIN.... New York: William Wood 1865. First Edition. Quarto
(8-3/4" x 11-1/4") bound in original brown cloth recently rebacked
with black grained cloth. [4], xiv-xviii, [1], 20-139 pages.
Illustrated with 11 lithographed plates, one hand-colored and two

color plate books (p. 106), but this copy is not colored except for
the frontispiece. Hedrick, A HISTORY OF HORTICULTURE IN AMERICA: "The
plates are rather horrifying examples of all the problems from
insects which faced the fruit grower" (p. 529). Dampstaining to cloth
and margins of many text pages and plates, heaviest to the title page
and frontispiece. Good, used copy of this practical manual for
orchardists. $250.00
