From our upcoming annual Summer Miscellany Catalogue due to be posted on our
home page within a month. It will contain a variety of fine and unusual itesm,
such as this:

(OWENS, Jesse). DIE OLYMPISCHEN SPIELE 1936. IN BERLIN UND
GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN. BAND II. SIGNED 5 Times by Jesse Owens.
Hamburg: Cigaretten-Bilderdienst [1936]. First Edition. The second of
two volumes: the first concentrated on the Winter Games at
Garmisch-Partenkirchen and this, the second volume, celebrated the
summer games in Berlin. Illustrated with approximately 200 tipped-in
photographs of various sizes, the largest being the first: a close-up
of Hitler and his henchman saluting in the stadium. There are also 5
photographs of Jesse Owens, one of America's greatest athletes whose
four Gold Medals in these 1936 Berlin Olympics angered host Adolf
Hitler. What raises this copy above the ordinary is that each of the
5 photographs is INSCRIBED and SIGNED in February 1977 by the star
athlete. The stadium in Berlin where the 1936 Olympics was held was
most recently the site of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Championship match
between France and Italy. A very special item! Dampstaining to lower
portion of rear cover with slight effect on some pages, mostly at the
lower rear corner. Still Very Good, lacking the dustwrapper. $2000.00
