Bodies Made by Magnifying Glasses. London: Jo. Martin and Ja. Allestry for the 
Royal Society. 1665. Folio. First edition, first issue. (36),246,(10)pp. With 
the license leaf, facing the title. Title printed in red & black with a large 
engraved vignette. Illustrated with 38 plates (of which 20 are folding), 
complete. Cont. calf, rebacked, hinges and extremities a bit rubbed, but a very sound 
copy. Some text soiling. Plates with some minor tears at margins, one plate 
with an outer margin reinforced. Plates 22, 26, 31 & 32 with slight losses at 
outer margins. Plates 34 & 35 with tears which extend into the image.
