each with descriptive text. 19th century half calf over marbled boards, spine

One of the plate volumes to a circa 1770 4to. edition of Diderot’s 
ENCYCLOPEDIE. This volume has plates related to mathematics, surveying, mechanics, 
hydraulics, windmills, optics, perspective, astronomical instruments (17 plates), 
pneumatics, etc., etc.
