[GLASSE, Hannah]. THE ART OF COOKERY, MADE PLAIN AND EASY; WHICH FAR
EXCEEDS ANY THING OF THE KIND YET PUBLISHED ... BY A LADY. London:
Millar, Tonson, et. al. 1760. 7th Edition. In somewhat later half
calf with calf corners and marbled boards; [ii], vi, [xxiv], 384,
[24]=index pages. First published in 1747, Glasse's book was
reprinted many times and was perhaps the most popular cookbook of its
day. This early edition is complete but for missing blanks and is in
very nice shape. Contents clean, some rubbing to spine edges but
binding still quite attractive. Very Good or better. $950.00
