AMERICAN INDIAN: HIS ORIGIN, DEVELOPMENT, DECLINE, AND DESTINY.
Boston: D. Lothrop Company, (1887). First printing, Full cloth, Octavo, xi, 
11-312 pages, black & white plates, cuts. Very Good.
      A well illustrated history, including some maps and plans. Pages 
301-308 catalogue "The Best Hundred Books on the American Indian". Bound in 
green cloth over boards with spine and upper board titled and decorated in 
gilt and dark blue. Scene on upper board depicts in gilt a mounted Indian in 
headdress, shading his eyes as he surveys the countryside. Spine is somewhat 
dulled, binding has rubs at extremities, light foxing, small prior owner 
name label at top edge of front pastedown.    $50.00
