TENNYSON, Lord. THE WORKS OF ALFRED, LORD TENNYSON POET LAUREATE.
Boston: Estes and Lauriat 1895. The Edition De Luxe, edited by
William J. Rolfe, complete in twelve large octavo (6" x 8-7/8")
volumes. This is #167 of 1000 copies and is bound in red 3/4 morocco
and marbled boards with five raised bands and gilt ruling, lettering,
and decorations on the spine. Illustrated with an etched portrait
frontispiece of Tennyson by William Unger and numerous etchings,
photogravures, mezzotints, etc. by Maud Humphrey, Edward Lear,
Gustave Dore, F. S. Church, etc. Bookplate of Charles Henry Hall on
each front pastedown with his small ticket on the rear pastedown and
a more modern bookplate on most front free endpapers. Minor wear to
some spine heads and edges, occasional scratch or rubbing. Not
pristine by any means but still very nice. A Very Good set with an
attractive shelf appearance. $850.00
