The fine series of engravings depict a priest at the altar with an altar boy.
On each plate there is a different painting on the chapel wall, illustrating
the Passion of Christ from the Garden of Olives through the Resurrection. P.
A. Kilian (1714-1759) was best known for an extensive series of biblical
engravings. The two parts, although with different imprints, were published together
as indicated by the catchword “Tableaux” at the bottom corner of the final
leaf of the first part. Very rare.
